LAOS Office Tools · Documents

Upload anything. LAOS tells you what can be done with it.

Convert formats with rules, read a table straight from a photo, and summarise long documents. The model is LAOS’s own — your file never reaches OpenAI, Google or any other provider — and nothing is kept.

Convert

Rules first. The model only when needed.

A conversion that can be done with rules is done with rules: reproducible, free and with no room for interpretation error. The model is reserved for what actually has to be interpreted.

Documents and data

CSV, TSV, JSON and Excel in every direction, with European decimals typed as numbers instead of turned into text.

PDF

Text, page images, one file per page, and images into PDF.

Try it before you sign up

Your first transformation asks for nothing. After that a free LAOS Account is needed — the same one the rest of the services use. Either way, no history is kept and no file is stored.

Scan

A photo of a table becomes an editable spreadsheet.

Point the camera at a table and leave with an Excel file. Every cell carries the confidence the model declared, and an unreadable cell comes back empty — never invented.

Confidence per cell

Below the review threshold the cell is highlighted in the exported file and annotated with its confidence.

You correct, nothing is learned

A cell you fix by hand becomes the most reliable value in the process, and your correction is not sent anywhere.

Summaries

Long documents into summary, key points, dates, amounts and tasks, taken from the text and nothing else.

System architecture

Architecture with a visible boundary.

Shared capabilities can support many systems while user projects retain their own data, context and control.

Privacy

Verifiable, not promised.

The model belongs to LAOS. If it is unavailable the operation fails: there is no third-party fallback, by design. Where it runs depends on the instance you use — your own machine if you serve it, LAOS servers if you come through officetools.laostechnologies.com.

Temporary by default

Files live in a temporary folder and are deleted when you leave the result, when you press delete, or after 30 minutes on their own. There is no database.

Sentinel first

Magic bytes against extension, double extension, masked executables and macros are checked before anything is processed. A rejected file is not stored.

Nothing cached

The offline shell is cached; API responses never are, so no copy of a document stays in the browser.

Scope

What this version does not do.

Said up front instead of discovered along the way. If an output does not exist, it does not appear as an option in the app.

Account, but no history yet

A LAOS Account can be created from inside the app, but it does not carry anything across sessions yet: no saved templates, no Google Drive and no batch processing.

No Office file conversion

Word, ODT and PowerPoint need an isolated LibreOffice; searchable PDF needs word-level OCR boxes.

No chart reconstruction

Turning a chart image back into data is the flashiest and least reliable feature, so it is deliberately absent.

Public record

Progress has a record.

01

Table reading is measured, not claimed

On a clean capture and on a degraded photo the model read every cell correctly. With cells deliberately covered it returned them empty and dropped its confidence. An evaluation set with real phone photos is still missing, so there is no defensible accuracy figure yet.

02

Local summaries

Summary, key points, dates, amounts and tasks with the local text model. A document that does not fit the context window is read in chunks and the result states it.

03

Beta, and it says so

The app works and is tested, but it is not launched: quotas and queue isolation come before any open public tier, because the GPU is single and shared.
